Yup, exactly two weeks from today, at this time, I will be fully Catholic! Time goes by fast, but I'm also getting more and more impatient!
Today a group of us went to Mass at a convent, prayed the rosary there, and hiked the Stations of the Cross. It was a really neat experience and a BEAUTIFUL day for the whole thing. I think my favorite part though was right after we prayed the rosary. All of us who will be coming into the Church, some in two weeks and some at Easter, made a circle and then everyone else gathered around us and laid their hands on us and prayed for us. It was really special. It is so encouraging to know that there are so many people praying for us and really excited for us!
Today before Mass this evening as I was knelling there praying, I was thinking about my First Reconciliation. Monsignor and I have spent the day playing phone tag trying to set up a time for it, so it was on my mind. I'm a bit nervous, as I think pretty much everyone is, but I'm also kind of excited. It will basically be my first officially Catholic thing, before I'm even officially Catholic. So just the idea of doing it is exciting! It means I'm almost there!
I was also thinking about finally being able to go up in the Communion line and hold out my hands to receive Jesus instead of crossing my arms for a blessing. I almost cried just thinking about it, and I don't cry very easily! I really can't wait. And thankfully, I'm sure the next two weeks really will go quickly!
Less than TWO weeks to go!

Karen, you left a comment on my blog last night so I'm returning the visit. I love your story and how you're chronicling your story so much, I just posted about it on my own blog. Welcome to the Catholic Church - and I'll be checking back to see how it goes! Blessings!
Hi Karen,
I came over from Amy Welborn's blog. I was received into the church 3 years ago and I had the same anticipation and wonder that you did. I love your post about things you love about the church. One of my favorite things that you mentioned in your last post is -- the litany of saints. Whenever there's a litany I can feel all the saints gathering around and listening and praying and joining their prayers to mine and for me -- I never feel alone now that I'm in the church and part of the Communion.
Congratulations!
I am so very excited for you!!! Welcome!
Wow, I can feel your genuine excitement. I can't wait until my husband's RCIA group is ready to join, he has only had a handful of classes but he is really enjoying it and has no doubt that he wants to join, after almost 15 yrs of marriage, I am beside myself with happiness. I am so happy that you are joining... God Bless you!!!
Thank you all for your warm welcomes and encouragement! That is one really nice thing about this whole process, everyone is just about as excited for me and as I am for myself! :D I love it!
